YOU – A twisted tale of love, romance, and suspense

Director: Greg Berlanti

Cast : Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Lail, Victoria Pedretti, Shay Mitchell, Ambyr Childers, Jenna Ortega

Language:english

The show is centred on Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) a next-door kinda guy who meets Guinevere Beck (Elizabeth Lail) an attractive young woman. He falls headfirst into love with her and feels he can make everything right about her life. The series continues to show the crazy extents Joe is willing to go, to get what he wants.

The biggest strength of the show is the exceptional writing that keeps the audience hooked all the time. With limited characters and smooth screenplay, it is engaging and always keeps the audience on the edge of their couch .

” The series is narrated by Joe Goldberg and the narrative style makes you even more invested in the story “

Penn Badgley is the perfect cast for a conflicted character like Joe Goldberg. Because of the way the character is written and Penn’s convincing portrayal, you find yourself rooting for Joe, even though it questions your morale. Elizabeth is charming and captivating as Beck and handles the role with elegance. Shay Mitchell’s performance as Peach Salinger, a jealous friend who has a lot to hide, is also note-worthy.

Though season 1 is mind-blowing and leaves you wanting for more, season 2 is a bit of a let down. It is not as engaging as the first season and the plot deviates a bit into other stories. However, Victoria Pedretti as Love Quinn makes up for the boring parts and she is an absolute delight to watch. Love is as much as a complicated character as Joe and Victoria does justice to the role.

“Season 2 is more intense in terms of the character development for Joe as he faces a few harsh realities”

An unconventional take on love twinned with mystery and secrets make YOU a worth watch. Do ensure you complete the two seasons before season 3 drops in 2021!

stream it in netflix and try to strangle the thin line of Joe
